SUMMER COCKTAIL OF THE WEEK

Smashed Raspberry Lemonade Cocktail

Summer just got a bit brighter - this sparkling cocktail from  A Beautiful Mess is the perfect mix of sweet & tart!

Check out this list of supplies you simply NEED to have to keep your cocktail bar stocked and your guests satisfied!

Liquor

Vodka, gin, and whiskey, oh my! Stock up on those three favorites and be sure to grab a bit of rum and tequila for safe keeping!

"The weather is always nice in the liquor store!"

Liqueur

You don’t need liqueur of every color of the rainbow to make a great cocktail! Grab the basics (vermouth, orange-based liqueur, herb-based spirits, and sweet liqueurs) and have fun!

"Candy is dandy, but liqueur is quicker"

Mixers

Pick your poison (or take them all):

1. Bitters - aromatic bitters, orange bitters, artisan bitters

2. Spicy/Savory Flavors - hot sauce, tomato juice, Worcestershire sauce

3. Sweet/Sour Flavors - sugar, simple syrup, sour mix, grenadine

4. Fruit Juice - Lemon juice, lime juice, orange juice, cranberry juice

5. Carbonations - seltzer, club soda, tonic,  cola, lemon-lime, ginger ale

"There can be no elixir without a great mixer."

Garnishes

Don’t let your drink be just an average joe! Beautify your beverage! Add a slice of lemon, a stick of celery, or even a swizzle stick to spice up your cocktail’s life!

"When life hands you lemons, make them into a garnish!"

Tools

When serving spirits (and smiles), it’s important to have your weapons of choice on hand. Be sure to build up a collection that includes a jigger measure, cocktail shaker/strainer/stirrer, a muddler, a bottle opener, a fruit juicer, and a bar spoon.

"A martini-shaken, not stirred."

Glassware

Raise your glass to your newly stocked cocktail bar- but wait, there’s one more essential ingredient. The glasses themselves! Make sure to have 6-8 of each type of glass: short glasses, tall glasses, stem glasses, and shot glasses so that you are ready for any entertaining possibility!

"May your wine glass always be half full."
